Super Flat Floors
Laser-screeded concrete floors built to the tightest flatness tolerances — for warehouses, distribution centers, garages, and commercial spaces.
Laser Screed Technology
When Flatness Matters, Precision Matters More
Super flat floors aren't just smooth — they're engineered. We use laser screed technology to place and level concrete to precise FF/FL specifications that hand-screeding simply cannot achieve. The result is a floor that performs: forklifts run true, racking systems sit level, and coatings bond evenly.
Whether you're building a new warehouse slab, upgrading a distribution center, or pouring a commercial garage floor, we bring the equipment, the mix design, and the experience to hit your flatness spec every time.
- Laser screed technology for FF/FL-specified floors
- Ideal for warehouses, distribution centers & commercial garages
- Consistent thickness and flatness across large pours
- Compatible with epoxy, polished concrete & hardener finishes
- Serving southeastern Massachusetts & Rhode Island
Industry Standards
What FF & FL Numbers Mean
FF (Floor Flatness) and FL (Floor Levelness) are the ASTM E1155 measurements that define concrete floor quality. Higher numbers mean tighter tolerances — and better performance for your operation.
FF Number
Floor Flatness
Measures surface waviness over short distances — how bumpy the floor is underfoot. Critical for forklift stability and mast sway.
FL Number
Floor Levelness
Measures how level the floor is over longer spans. Affects racking plumb, drainage, and overall slab performance.
Our Standard
We Surpass FF50 / FL35
Most warehouse specs require FF35/FL25. We routinely exceed FF50/FL35 with laser screed — delivering a floor that outperforms the spec, not just meets it.
Applications
Where Super Flat Floors Are Used
Warehouses & Distribution Centers
High-traffic forklift floors demand tight flatness tolerances. We pour to spec so your equipment runs straight and your racking sits level.
Commercial Garages
Large-bay garage floors benefit from laser screed placement — no high spots, no low spots, no pooling water.
Manufacturing Facilities
Production floors with heavy machinery require a stable, level base. We work with your structural engineer's FF/FL requirements.
Retail & Big Box
Large retail slabs need consistent flatness for shelving, display fixtures, and customer safety. Laser screed delivers it at scale.
How We Do It
Our Super Flat Floor Process
Sub-Base Preparation
We compact and grade the sub-base to the required depth and bearing capacity. A stable base is the foundation of a flat floor.
Forming & Layout
Laser-guided layout ensures the pour area is set up for consistent slab thickness and proper drainage slope where required.
Reinforcement
Rebar, wire mesh, or fiber reinforcement is placed per the structural design. We follow the engineer's spec — no shortcuts.
Laser Screed Placement
Concrete is placed and struck off using a laser screed machine that automatically levels the surface to within fractions of an inch across the entire pour.
Power Troweling
After initial set, we power trowel the surface to achieve the specified finish — broom, burnished, or ready for coating.
Curing & Sealing
Proper curing is critical to strength and flatness retention. We apply curing compound or wet cure as specified, then seal or prep for your chosen finish.
The Benefits
Why Choose Laser Screed?
Tighter Flatness Tolerances
Laser screed consistently achieves FF50/FL35 and higher — far beyond what hand-screeding can reliably deliver on large pours.
Faster Large-Area Pours
The machine covers ground quickly and consistently, reducing labor time and minimizing cold joints on big slabs.
Consistent Slab Thickness
Automated grade control means uniform thickness across the entire pour — no thin spots, no wasted concrete.
Forklift & Racking Ready
Flat floors extend forklift tire life, reduce mast sway, and keep racking systems plumb — directly impacting operational safety and cost.
Better Coating Adhesion
A flat, consistent surface means epoxy and polished concrete finishes bond evenly — no bridging, no holidays, no delamination.
Reduced Long-Term Maintenance
Flat floors don't collect water in low spots, don't crack unevenly, and don't require grinding to fix high spots after the fact.
